Clearwater, FL (Sportsbooks) - Former Toronto Blue Jay first baseman Doug Ault died in his Florida home at the age of 54 and on Tuesday the medical examiner ruled the death as a suicide. Ault died on December 22, in his Tarpon Springs home on what is now being called a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Ault only played four years in the majors, but is known for hitting two home runs in the first game in Blue Jays' history. The Texas native was selected by Toronto in the 1976 expansion draft from the Rangers, before retiring in 1980. In 256 career games, Ault hit .236 with 17 home runs.
