Milan, Italy (Sportsbooks) - AC Milan extended the contract of midfielder Gennaro Gattuso until June of 2009. The 26-year-old Italian international has been a mainstay in the midfield for the Rossoneri for the past five seasons. Gattuso has made at least 20 Serie A appearances for AC Milan in every season since coming to the club in 1999. Gattuso's career began with Perugia in the Italian second division in 1994. He spent three seasons with Perugia before heading to Scottish giants Celtic for two years. Since coming to Milan, Gattuso has helped the Rossoneri to a Serie A and a Champions League title. They also captured the Italian Cup in 2002/03, the same season they picked up the Champions League honor. Milan is currently a threat to win both the Serie A and Champions League titles this season. Carlo Ancelotti's side is currently second in the Serie A table and unbeaten in Champions League group play.
