=== Van Nistelrooy accepts three-match ban === Manchester, England (Sportsbooks) - Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy pled guilty Tuesday to the English Football Association's charge of serious foul play. The Dutch international will now serve a three-match ban for a reckless challenge on Ashley Cole during United's 2-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday. He will begin serving the suspension Tuesday night when United takes on Crewe in the Carling Cup, and will also miss upcoming Premiership clashes against Portsmouth and Manchester City. "I accept the charge brought by the FA and I take full responsibility of this incident," said Van Nistelrooy, who was called a "cheat" by Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after the match. "However, there was no deliberate intent to harm Ashley Cole and I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to him." The FA is still investigating Wenger's post-match comments about referee Mike Riley and van Nistelrooy. Additionally, it is looking into rumors that an Arsenal player threw soup at Manchester boss Sir Alex Ferguson in the tunnel after the match.
