Toronto, ON (Sportsbooks) - Colorado Avalanche left wing Alex Tanguay and Montreal Canadiens right wing Richard Zednik have both signed with European teams, joining a growing list of talent who will play overseas during the NHL's current labor dispute. Tanguay, who tied for fourth in the league with 54 assists last season and whose 79 points was tied for ninth-best among NHL players, will play with Lugano in Switzerland. The five-year veteran also amassed a team-best rating of plus-30 and made his first All-Star appearance in 2004. Zednik, who topped Montreal with 26 goals and added 24 assists this past year, has signed with Zvolen in his homeland of Slovakia. The 28-year-old has compiled 145 goals and 124 assists during his nine-year NHL career. The International Ice Hockey Federation has reported that a total of 194 NHL players have joined European clubs during the lockout.
