Los Angeles, CA (Sportsbooks) - Michael David Barrett was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in federal prison on Monday for stalking and secretly taking nude videos of ESPN reporter Erin Andrews as she was in hotel rooms. Barrett took the footage through the peepholes in at least three different cities Andrews visited and posted the videos on the Internet. He earlier pled guilty to a count of interstate stalking and agreed to a 27-month sentence, but a judge ultimately decided on Monday how long Barrett would be in prison. "The judge obviously did the best he could with what the perimeters that are set," Andrews said. "But I'm glad that he'll be away from anyone he could harm for the next 30 months. I would like a longer sentence." Barrett is expected to begin his prison term in May. "He has simply and always accepted full responsibility for his conduct and has both directly and indirectly apologized to Ms. Andrews," Barrett's attorney David Willingham said. "He deeply regrets any pain he that he has caused to her."
