Florham Park, NJ (Sportsbooks) - New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said quarterback Mark Sanchez was a full participant in Friday's practice and will make the start on Sunday against the Falcons. Sanchez missed last week's win against Tampa Bay with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament after injuring the knee in a December 3 game against Buffalo. "Mark will start at quarterback to no great surprise of anybody," Ryan said. "But he looked good at -- he's got both knee braces, so it's going to be a Joe Namath throwback game for Mark. He slid right in front of me in practice to make sure he was ready to go." Sanchez has made 12 starts in his rookie season and has thrown for 2,049 yards with 11 touchdowns and 17 interceptions for the 7-6 Jets. Kellen Clemens got the start last week in place of Sanchez and completed 12- of-23 passes for 111 yards. In other injury news for New York, offensive lineman Nick Mangold missed practice with an undisclosed illness and is listed as questionable. Ryan said he expects Mangold to play on Sunday.
