Mavs aim to continue dominance over Knicks in Dallas

(Sportsbooks) - The NBA schedule can be a fickle mistress.

One day it can lift your spirits and the next you are picking up the pieces after a devastating loss.

Just ask Mike D'Antoni and the New York Knicks. Two days after their most impressive win of the season, a 100-88 drubbing of the defending champion Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks waltzed into Oklahoma City and lost to the lowly Thunder on Tuesday.

Now, New York will attempt to get back on track when it resumes a four-game road trip in North Texas versus the Dallas Mavericks.

Jeff Green and Kevin Durant scored 27 points apiece to lead Oklahoma City in the 107-99 victory over the Knicks on Tuesday.

Al Harrington tallied 21 points and four steals for the Knicks, who fell to 5-12 on the road. David Lee gave 14 points and 13 boards in defeat, while Chris Duhon had 18 points and six helpers.

New York will also face Houston and New Orleans on its trek.

The Mavs, meanwhile, opened a quick two-game homestand on Tuesday when Dirk Nowitzki dropped 34 points, going 4-for-4 from beyond the arc, as Dallas got by the lowly Los Angeles Clippers, 107-102.

Josh Howard added 22 points and six rebounds for the Mavericks, who bounced back from an ugly loss in Memphis on Sunday to win for the fourth time in five games. Jason Kidd finished with 10 rebounds, eight assists and three points in the win as Dallas improved to 11-6 at home this season.

The Mavs have won six straight and 13 of 14 over New York, including a 124-114 overtime win in Madison Square Garden on November 16.

Dallas has been a house of horrors for the Knicks recently as the Mavs have won eight straight over NY at home. The last time the Knicks came out on top in "Big D" was a 100-93 triumph on December 16, 1999.
