Anaheim, CA (Sportsbooks) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and manager Mike Scioscia have agreed to a multi-year extension that will keep him with the Halos through 2012.

Scioscia, who has guided the Angels to four AL West crowns over the last five years and led the club to its first-ever world championship in 2002, had been signed through 2009, with a club option for 2010, for about $2 million per season.

The 50-year-old Scioscia, who was the AL's Manager of the Year in 2002, has won more games than any manager in team history and owns a record 803-655 overall record since taking over the team prior to the 2000 campaign. He is the only manager in franchise history to reach the playoffs five times and his .551 winning percentage is also the best all-time in club annals.

This past season Scioscia's club was the only team to win 100 games, but were ousted in four games of the American League Division Series by the Boston Red Sox. Since their World Series win, the Angels have won just one postseason series.
