Buenos Aires, Argentina (Sportsbooks) - Fabian Gomez, a regular on the Nationwide Tour, fired a seven-under 64 Saturday to take a one-stroke lead after three rounds of the Argentine Masters. Gomez completed 54 holes at nine-under-par 204. Eduardo Romero, the reigning U.S. Senior Open champion, shared the lead entering round three and carded a two-under 69. He was joined in second place at minus-eight by Stuart Anderson, who shot 68 Saturday. Former U.S. Open winner Angel Cabrera is alone in fourth at seven-under-par 206 after posting a three-under 68. Josh McCumber is one shot back at minus- six after carding a 70 in the third round at Olivos Golf Club. Gomez opened with a birdie on the first, but gave that shot back as he bogeyed the par-four third. He jumped up the leaderboard with an eagle on the par-five eighth and a birdie at No. 9. The Argentine stumbled back to minus-eight after bogeys at 10 and 13. Gomez secured the third-round lead with his third birdie in three days at the par- five 18th. Romero drained back-to-back birdies to open his round. He later traded a birdie for a bogey from the 12th and 15th. Like Gomez, Romero birdied the last to finish one back at minus-eight. Michael Mezei (67) and Rodolfo Gonzalez (70) share sixth place at five-under- par 208. Andres Romero and Sebastian Saavedra are one back at minus-four. Julio Zapata, who shared the second-round lead with Romero, stumbled to a three-over 74. He headlines a group of five players at three-under-par 210.
