Cleveland, OH (Sportsbooks) - Ken Dorsey will be the Browns starting quarterback when Cleveland travels to take on the Tennessee Titans next Sunday, while the team will be without both quarterback Derek Anderson and tight end Kellen Winslow. Anderson is done for the season after an MRI exam Monday revealed a torn MCL in his left knee. The incumbent starter left Sunday's 10-6 loss to Indianapolis late in the fourth quarter. The injury won't require surgery but instead a brace will be used with an estimated recovery time of 4-to-6 weeks. This after Brady Quinn's season was cut short because of a fractured right index finger. Quinn injured the finger in his second career start, a 29-27 victory over the Buffalo Bills on November 17. Anderson lost the starting job to Quinn after a 3-5 start to the season. Winslow has been ruled out for Sunday's game with a high ankle sprain. There is no timetable for his return. The injury will require the use of a walking boot for up to a week. Dorsey entered the game for Anderson on Sunday and proceeded to throw two incomplete passes and an interception that ended Cleveland's comeback bid. The brief stint under center was Dorsey's first this season with his last game action coming in 2006, which resulted in a single incompletion and a sack in limited time. Prior to his tenure with the Browns, the Miami-Florida product appeared in 11 games over three seasons for the San Francisco 49ers, starting 10 of those contests. He completed 171-of-316 pass attempts for 1,712 yards with eight TD passes and 11 interceptions. |
