Tampa, FL (Sportsbooks) - Tampa Bay running back Carnell "Cadillac" Williams took part in a Buccaneers practice Wednesday for the first time since September 26, 2007, after a long recovery from a torn patellar tendon. Williams spent the last 13 months recovering from the knee injury, which was so severe that it ended his 2007 season after just four games and landed the 26-year-old on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start the 2008 season. "We didn't have the helmets on, but it was good to have him back out there," Bucs head coach Jon Gruden said. "It was uplifting to everybody. The journey has begun. It was great to have him back. He looked pretty good." The Auburn product is technically still on the PUP list, but following his first day of practice, the Bucs have 21 days to either put him back on injured reserve or make a spot for him on their 53-man roster. "We're going to take it one day at a time," Gruden said. "Tomorrow will be interesting. We'll put the helmets on and we'll move much quicker. But we'll just take it one day at a time and go from there." Williams, who sustained the injury last September 30 during a 20-7 victory in Carolina, has gained 2,184 yards and 10 touchdowns in 32 games since he was taken fifth overall by Tampa Bay in the 2005 NFL Draft.
