Kansas City, MO (Sportsbooks) - The Kansas City Chiefs signed quarterback Quinn Gray to a two-year contract after the team's top two signal-callers, Brodie Croyle and Damon Huard, both suffered injuries in Sunday's loss to the Titans. Gray played in 11 games -- four starts -- for Jacksonville during his three seasons with the Jaguars from 2005-2007. He threw for 12 touchdowns and five interceptions for an 88.5 quarterback rating. Most recently, Gray was in training camp this season with the Indianapolis Colts but was released before the regular season began. Croyle, the team's original starter, appeared in only two games this year. He suffered a significant knee injury in Sunday's game that will force him to miss the rest of the season. He also missed four games after suffering a shoulder injury in Kansas City's 17-10 loss to the New England Patriots on September 7. He is 0-8 in his eight career starts, and has been injured in four of his 12 career games. Huard left in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game after injuring his right hand. The extent of his injury and his status for the team's next game against the Jets is currently unknown. Huard's hand struck a helmet while following through on a pass on the second play of the fourth quarter, and he did not return. He had his hand wrapped on the sideline, while Tyler Thigpen came on to lead the Kansas City offense. Also on Wednesday, the Chiefs claimed punter Steve Weatherford off waivers from the New Orleans Saints. Weatherford appeared in seven games this season for the Saints, punting 26 times for 1,094 yards. The 25-year old has spent his entire three-year career with New Orleans, playing in 39 games for the time from 2006-2008.
