Cullowhee, NC (Sportsbooks) - Western Carolina guard Kevin Martin, who just finished his junior season, announced Wednesday that he will declare for the upcoming NBA draft. Martin, though, will not retain an agent so that he may keep his collegiate eligibility intact. "I've decided to make myself eligible for the draft," Martin said. "I feel that this is the right time for me to seize this opportunity. Though I have every intention of being drafted by and playing for an NBA team, I intend to maintain my eligibility in the event that I choose to return to school." Martin ranks fourth on Western Carolina's all-time scoring list with 1,838 career points. He currently ranks second in the nation in scoring. Martin ended the 2003-04 campaign as the Southern Conference scoring champion for the second straight season, averaging 24.9 points per game.
