Berea, OH (Sportsbooks) - The Cleveland Browns signed linebacker Keith Adams to the active roster, and also claimed center Marvin Philip off waivers on Wednesday. Adams, a 5-foot-11, 240-pounder out of Clemson, has played seven NFL seasons, including stints with the Titans, Cowboys, Eagles, Panthers and Dolphins. In 82 career games, including 23 starts, he has made 185 tackles -- 99 on special teams. His best individual season came in 2005 with Philadelphia, when he registered a career-high 101 tackles. Philip was claimed from the Pittsburgh Steelers, of whom he was a sixth-round draft pick before being released December 10. In order to clear roster space, the Browns waived linebacker Colby Bockwoldt and offensive lineman Greg Eslinger. In an unrelated move, the team also signed tight end Brad Ciesklak to the practice squad and released Johnny Harline.
