Detroit, MI (Sportsbooks) - Rian Lindell hit three field goals, including a 21-yarder with under two minutes to play, as the Buffalo Bills downed the Detroit Lions, 16-13, in the final preseason matchup for both teams.

Fred Jackson had nine carries for 23 yards and a score while Trent Edwards went 18-for-24 for 182 yards for the Bills (2-2), who begin their regular season at home against Denver on September 9.

J.T. O'Sullivan went 15-for-26 for 175 yards and a score while Brandon Middleton had five catches for 50 yards for the Lions (2-2), who start their regular season at Oakland on September 9.

Jason Hanson booted a 51-yard field goal with 4:13 remaining in the first quarter to stake the Lions to a 3-0 lead.

Hanson's 24-yard field goal with 7:55 left in the first half then gave Detroit a 6-0 advantage.

Detroit extended its lead to 13-0 when O'Sullivan connected with Sean McHugh on an 18-yard touchdown reception with 1:58 left in the second.

Buffalo, though, got on the board in the final seconds of the first half as Lindell hit a 45-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 13-3.

The Bills made it a three-point game on their first possession of the second half as Jackson capped an 11-play, 72-yard drive with a five-yard touchdown run.

Lindell's 40-yard field goal with 10:19 to play in the game tied the contest, and his 21-yarder with under two minutes to play gave the team the lead and they held the Lions at bay to grab the win.
