Ottawa Senators try to make it three straight wins this evening, as they welcome the
Philadelphia Flyers to the Corel Centre.
On Saturday, Dany Heatley scored a career-high four goals to lead the Senators past the Toronto Maple Leafs 8-0 at Air Canada Centre.
Heatley now has eight goals and eight assists after nine games, and has set a new Ottawa record for most consecutive games with a point to start a season.
It was also his third career hat trick.
Daniel Alfredsson scored a goal and added two assists for the Senators, who have just one loss on the year (8-0-1).
Dominik Hasek stopped all 27 shots he faced in net for his 65th career shutout and second of the young season. He is now just one behind Patrick Roy for 13th on the all-time list.
Ottawa, which will head to Buffalo on Wednesday, has won all four of its homes games this season, while outscoring its opponents 20-9.
Philadelphia, meanwhile, comes into tonight's tilt on the heels of an 8-6 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday.
Jon Sim scored twice, Peter Forsberg had a goal and a assist, and Joni Pitkanen notched three assists for the Flyers, who lost for just the second time in its last six games.
Antero Niittymaki had 29 saves in the loss.
Forsberg has scored in each of the past two games and has recorded at least one point in eight of nine games. He is tied for third in the league with 17 points (2g, 15a).
Philadelphia, which will start a five-game homestand after tonight's game, is 1-2-1 away from home this season.
Ottawa was 2-1-1 versus the Flyers in 2003-04 and is 3-1-3 in the last seven meetings. Philly has not had much success in Ottawa, where they are winless in its last five (0-2-3) and just 1-2-4 in its last seven visits.
