Renton, WA (.com) - The reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have added a six-time Pro Bowl honoree to their fierce defense, with the team officially signing longtime Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams on Monday.

NFL.com had reported last Thursday that Williams, a 15-game starter for the Vikings last season, had agreed to terms with Seattle on a one-year contract.

Williams had spent his entire 11-year career in Minnesota, which selected the 33-year-old with the ninth overall pick of the 2003 draft. One of the league's most dominant interior linemen during the previous decade, he recorded 8 1/2 sacks or more in three different seasons and was named an All-Pro five times during a six-year span from 2004-09.

The Oklahoma State product remained an effective player this past season, recording 29 tackles, 3 1/2 sacks and one interception. Williams is expected to be used in a rotation with returning starters Brandon Mebane and Tony McDaniel in Seattle.

A starter in all 171 of his career games, Williams amassed 60 sacks, five interceptions, seven forced fumbles and 463 tackles during his tenure in Minnesota.

The Seahawks also signed rookie running back Demitrius Bronson while releasing quarterback Keith Price and defensive end Kenneth Boatright.

Price was a three-year starter at nearby University of Washington who threw for 75 touchdowns with the Huskies.
