East Rutherford, NJ (.com) - New York Giants starting middle linebacker Jon Beason left Thursday's practice with a right foot injury.

Beason needed to be carted off the field and then went to the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York for tests and an examination.

The Giants haven't disclosed the extent of Beason's injury or announced if he's expected to miss any time.

Beason was acquired from the Carolina Panthers during the 2013 season and finished the year with 98 tackles, which was second on the team.
