Eden Prairie, MN (.com) - The Minnesota Vikings' offseason house-cleaning continued on Thursday, when the team terminated the contract of defensive tackle Letroy Guion and placed wide receiver Greg Childs on waivers.

Guion started 15 games for the Vikings in 2012 and 13 last year, but managed just 21 tackles and one sack this past season and was due to count $4.3 million against the salary cap in 2014. The Vikings will clear $4 million in space with the move.

The 26-year-old had spent his entire six-year career with Minnesota, having been selected by the Vikings in the fifth round of the 2008 draft.

Childs was a fourth-round pick in 2012 who never played in a game with the Vikings after tearing the patellar tendon in both of his knees during training camp as a rookie.

Minnesota also released tight end John Carlson on Wednesday and cut loose linebacker Erin Henderson last month.
