Giants add K BuehlerSportsbooks - Online Sportsbook, Casino & Racebook
East Rutherford, NJ (Sportsbooks) - The New York Giants signed kicker David Buehler to a reserve/future contract on Wednesday, with the former Dallas Cowboy expected to compete for a job in training camp.
Buehler led the NFL with 29 touchbacks on 76 attempts as a rookie kickoff specialist with the Cowboys in 2009, then served as Dallas' primary placekicker the following season. He made 24-of-32 field goals with a long of 53 yards while going 42-of-44 on point-after tries. The 2009 fifth-round draft choice was beaten out by Dan Bailey for placekicking duties in 2011, but handled kickoffs for four games before being placed on injured reserve in November.
