Yonkers, NY (Sportsbooks) - Bolt The Duer, driven by Mark MacDonald, rallied along the inside to win Saturday's $415,820 Messenger Stakes at Yonkers Raceway. The 3-year-old colt captured the final race of the Pacing Triple Crown in a stakes record time of 1:51 2/5.

Setting the early pace on the half-mile track was Bolt The Duer followed by 3-2 favorite Hillbilly Hanover. Up the backstretch for the first time it was Bolt The Duer leading with Pet Rock in second and Hillbilly Hanover racing third with Domethatagain in fourth in the eight-horse field.

With a half-mile to go, Pet Rock had the lead with Bolt The Duer now in second. Around the final turn Pet Rock and driver George Brennan were on the lead with Meadowlands Pace winner A Rocknroll Dance second and Bolt The Duer in third.

Down the stretch, Pet Rock continued to lead as Bolt The Duer surged through the lane along the rail to catch the leader and post a length win.

Finishing third was Hillbilly Hanover followed by A Rocknroll Dance, Domethatagain, Lawgiver Hanover, Major Bombay and Steelhead Hanover.

Trained by Peter Foley, Bolt The Duer added $208,000 to his earnings for 2012. This year the colt has won eight of 16 starts for $822,005.

The time of 1:51 2/5 breaks the stakes record set in 2010 by Rock N Roll Heaven. Earlier this year, Bolt The Doer set a world record for a five-eighths track when he won the $500,000 Adios at the Meadows in 1:47 4/5. He also won the $250,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes Final and was second to Pet Rock in the Art Rooney Pace at Yonkers.

Bolt The Duer returned $6.00, $3.80 and $2.90. Pet Rock paid $4.30 and $2.90, and Hillbilly Hanover paid $2.60 to show.

This year's first two legs of the Pacing Triple Crown were won by Dynamic Youth (Cane Pace) and Michael's Power (Little Brown Jug).

No Pan Intended was the last Pacing Triple Crown champ in 2003.
