Roulette FAQs

1. When I play Roulette, am I competing against other players?

No. Roulette is a banking game, which means that all bets are placed against the bank (the house).

2. Should you repeat your bet on a frequently winning color?

We discourage it. The game of Roulette rejects all notions of "pattern". Percentages will come in handier, however, as you always have a 47.37% chance of hitting red or black in a double-zero game. In short, always remember the fact that Roulette is a fixed-odds event. This way you won't be so tempted to base your play on another player's 5-time run on black.

To elaborate on this answer, we've provided you with a few percentages… take a look at them, and then seriously consider committing them to memory. Eight or more sets of black-black or red-red (including over two in a row) in 24 spins: 70% chance.

  • Four or more instances of at least triplets: just over a 50 % chance.
  • Five or more successive reds or blacks: almost 2% chance.

3. What are the main differences between inside bets and outside bets?

Outside bets are found outside of the numbered grid.
  • They include two types of wagers: even-money and 2-to-1.
  • Each outside bet must equal the table minimum.
  • Outside bets give you the option to place separate bets.
Inside bets are found on the inside of the numbered grid or layout.
  • All of your individual inside bets at a given table must add up to the table minimum.
  • All of the players' Inside bets are stacked on top of each other as there is only one spot on the inside layout for each particular bet.

4. What are the primary differences between American and European Roulette wheels?

European Wheels
  • Numbered 1-36
  • Include a green zero section.
American
  • Have a green zero and double zero (gives US casinos twice the house edge).
