Rex Grossman got the start for the team's preseason opener last week against Pittsburgh and completed 19-of-26 passes for 207 yards with a touchdown in Washington's 16-7 win. The Washington Redskins on Sunday cut Shayne Graham, leaving incumbent Graham Gano as lone remaining kicker at training camp. | (AP) - The New England Patriots have signed free agent defensive ends Shaun Ellis and Andre Carter. Ellis is a two-time Pro Bowl selection who has played 11 years for the New York Jets. CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Chicago Bears sackmaster Richard Dent, Washington Redskins linebacker Chris Hanburger and NFL Films founder Ed Sabol were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night. They were to be followed by Shannon Sharpe, Marshall Faulk, the late Les Richter, and Deion Sanders. Dent was a dynamic pass rusher on one of the NFL's greatest defenses, the 1985 NFL champions. He was the MVP of that Super Bowl and finished with 137 1/2 career sacks, third all-time when he left the sport. |
