ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The duel between the kicking Grahams lasted all of one preseason game.

The Washington Redskins on Sunday cut Shayne Graham, leaving incumbent Graham Gano as lone remaining kicker at training camp.

Graham is the third most accurate kicker in NFL history, but he shanked a 29-yard field goal attempt and also missed a 49-yarder in Friday's win over Pittsburgh. He had also struggled in practice leading up to the game.

Landover, MD (Sportsbooks) - Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor broke his left thumb during Friday's 16-7 exhibition loss to the Washington Redskins. (AP) - The New England Patriots have signed free agent defensive ends Shaun Ellis and Andre Carter.

Ellis is a two-time Pro Bowl selection who has played 11 years for the New York Jets. Carter played 10 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins.

Both are former first-round draft picks.

hio (AP) - That kid who went to college with two brown grocery bags filled with his belongings strutted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Shannon Sharpe joined running back Marshall Faulk, Chicago Bears sackmaster Richard Dent, Washington Redskins linebacker Chris Hanburger and NFL Films founder Ed Sabol in being inducted into the hall. They were to be followed by the late Les Richter, and Deion Sanders.

When Sharpe headed to Savannah State, all he heard was how he was destined to fail.

Sabol, Dent, Hanburger enter Hall of Fame NFL Football 08/06/2011

CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Chicago Bears sackmaster Richard Dent, Washington Redskins linebacker Chris Hanburger and NFL Films founder Ed Sabol were inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

They were to be followed by Shannon Sharpe, Marshall Faulk, the late Les Richter, and Deion Sanders.

Dent was a dynamic pass rusher on one of the NFL's greatest defenses, the 1985 NFL champions. He was the MVP of that Super Bowl and finished with 137 1/2 career sacks, third all-time when he left the sport.
