| Toronto, Ontario (Sportsbooks) - The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed rookie defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo, the team's first pick and the 17th overall selection in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. Colaiacovo will be paid the rookie maximum $1.130 million per year in his three-year deal, but may earn an additional $6.3 million in performance bonuses over the term of the contract.
