The San Francisco 49ers have traded the 37-year-old wide receiver to the Rams, who will hold a news conference with Bruce on Wednesday as he formally announces his retirement. Payne spent the last three seasons with Chicago after being selected in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
