Sheppard signed a one-year deal on Wednesday to give the team depth in the secondary. | Minneapolis, MN (Sportsbooks) - The Minnesota Vikings reached a deal with free agent cornerback Lito Sheppard on Wednesday. Sheppard was released by the Jets in March after recording 30 tackles and one interception in 11 games last year, his only season in New York. The 28-year-old University of Florida product played his first seven seasons in Philadelphia and was selected to a pair of Pro Bowls in 2005 and 2006. "Lito is a great guy who fits what we are looking for," Vikings head coach Brad Childress said. |

He will help fill in for starter Cedric Griffin, who is recovering from surgery on his left knee after an injury suffered in the NFC championship game.
