EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings have not ruled out cornerback Cedric Griffin playing this week in New Orleans. Griffin blew out his left knee in the NFC championship game against the Saints last January, an anterior cruciate ligament injury that typically requires about nine months of recovery. Griffin recently returned to practice, but he was listed as a limited participant on the injury report released Monday by the Vikings. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier said Monday that Griffin |

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Adrian Peterson says he believes he has a better grasp of how to better grasp the ball. The Minnesota Vikings All-Pro running back has had a fumbling problem over his otherwise-brilliant three-year career, and the aggressive New Orleans Saints are sure to be trying this week to force Peterson into another turnover or two. Peterson said Monday he's taught himself to carry the ball high and tight. He also said an extensive offseason video review has revealed he's more vulnerable t |

Reynaud, who also was acquired in the same trade with the Minnesota Vikings on Friday night for future considerations, is now the No. 1 punt returner as well as a member of possibly two or three other special teams units. Rosenfels and Reynaud got their Giants' playbooks on Saturday and have been in super study mode.Copyr |

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress is staunchly defending his decision to keep Tarvaris Jackson as Brett Favre's backup over Sage Rosenfels. Childress discussed the roster moves on Sunday, two days after the Vikings traded Rosenfels to the New York Giants. Rosenfels had the better statistics in the preseason, but Childress says Jackson has been better in practice and is the guy who would give the Vikings the best chance to win if Favre went down. EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - Brett Favre has heard all the talk about the beating the New Orleans Saints gave him in the NFC title game last season. The Minnesota Vikings say some of the hits Favre absorbed were illegal and should have been penalized. The Saints say they'll be just as aggressive when the two teams kick off the regular season on Thursday night. But Favre downplays the punishment he took. He said Sunday he felt worse after a victory in Week 3 over the San Francisco 49ers than he did after the |
