Texans-Dolphins won't be blacked out NFL Football 09/15/2011

MIAMI (AP) - The Miami Dolphins have purchased unsold tickets for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans, extending the team's 13-year streak of not having a home TV blackout.

The tickets were offered to season-ticket holders on a complimentary basis, the team said Thursday.

With a blackout averted, the game will be the 103rd in a row shown on local TV.Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. The information contained in the AP News report may not be published, broadcast, rewr

Texans' Foster practices NFL Football 09/14/2011
Houston, TX (Sportsbooks) - Houston Texans running back Arian Foster returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since aggravating his left hamstring on August 27. "It felt good being back out there with the guys," said Foster. "You miss that camaraderie and that competition and just the whole atmosphere of football when you're away from it." Derrick Ward started in Foster's place on Sunday against Indianapolis, but Ben Tate did most of the work in Houston's 34-7 rout at Reliant Stadium. Tate ran
Texans add WR Anderson; release Bulman NFL Football 09/14/2011
Houston, TX (Sportsbooks) - The Houston Texans added some depth at wide receiver on Wednesday by signing David Anderson, who had spent five seasons with the club. Anderson caught 81 passes for 886 yards with three touchdowns from 2006-10, but was released after the lockout. He hooked on with Denver, but was among the Broncos' final roster cuts. The 28-year-old Colorado State product was selected by the Texans in the seventh round of the 2006 draft. He had 11 catches for 117 yards last season. Anderson's s
Browns sign P Maynard, place McGee on IR NFL Football 09/13/2011
e Giants, Maynard played for the Chicago Bears from 2001 through last season. He has 1,258 career punts for 52,739 yards with a gross average of 41.9 yards and has placed 407 punts inside the 20-yard line. In 2008, he led the NFL with 40 punts inside the 20. Maynard spent training camp with the Houston Texans before being released on September 3. McGee punted eight times in the Browns' Week 1 loss to Cincinnati for an average of just 36 yards, with the poor performance resulting from an apparent back injury.

hem some respect. COLTS HOPE TO QUICKLY MOVE ON It is no surprise that the Indianapolis Colts struggled in their first meaningful game without Peyton Manning in 14 years. That still doesn't make it any less concerning. The Colts were walloped by the Houston Texans, 34-7, on Sunday and certainly didn't have the mojo of a team that has been to the playoffs in an NFL record- tying nine straight seasons. Indy allowed all 34 Houston points in the first half and didn't score its lone touchdown until the fourth quar
Foster-less Texans rout Manning-less Colts NFL Football 09/11/2011
Houston, TX (Sportsbooks) - There appears to be a clear changing of the guard in the AFC South. Without an injured Peyton Manning, the perennial division champion Colts were simply dreadful and the playoff-starved Houston Texans looked like true contenders in a 34-7 rout to open the season at Reliant Stadium. Matt Schaub threw for 220 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for the Texans (1-0), who dominated without injured running back Arian Foster. The NFL's leading rusher from a year ago sat ou

Texans' Foster sidelined for opener NFL Football 09/11/2011
Houston, TX (Sportsbooks) - Houston Texans running back Arian Foster was a spectator for the season opener against Indianapolis because of his hamstring injury, but he wasn't missed. Derrick Ward started in Foster's place and Ben Tate did most of the work in Houston's 34-7 rout at Reliant Stadium. Tate ran for 116 yards and a touchdown, while Ward added 39 yards on 11 carries with a score. The hamstring injury kept Foster out of practice all week. Foster led the league in rushing last season with 1,616 ya
Texans' Foster questionable for Sunday NFL Football 09/09/2011
Houston, TX (Sportsbooks) - Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is listed as questionable for Sunday's season opener against the Indianapolis Colts. Foster has been held out of practice this week with a hamstring injury. The 25-year-old Foster, who had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in the offseason, burst onto the scene in 2010 -- his second year in the league -- and totaled 2,220 yards from scrimmage, including a league-leading 1,616 rushing yards, to go with 18 touchdowns. He re-signed wit
Minus Manning, Colts head to Houston for key divisional clash NFL Football 09/09/2011
(Sportsbooks) - For the first time in almost 14 years, the Indianapolis Colts will play a meaningful game without Peyton Manning under center. Though they probably would have liked the test, the revamped Houston Texans won't mind the four-time league MVP staying on the sidelines considering they could be without last year's leading rusher. Hoping to begin a march towards an NFL-record 10th straight playoff appearances, the Colts open up their season at Reliant Stadium for the second straight year on Sunda
