Primarily a 3-4 scheme, the new coordinator will also implement many new looks along the front line like he did while serving in that same role for the Cleveland Browns the past two seasons. Ryan says players make his scheme, and he's got a good one at nose tackle in Jay Ratliff (31 tackles, 4 sacks), a three-time Pro Bowl honoree whose tenacity and tremendous athleticism gives opposing offensive lines trouble. BEREA, Ohio (AP) - Josh Cribbs and Evan Moore were among several players on exercise bicycles instead of in uniforms at the Cleveland Browns training camp. At least eight players wore baseball caps and did little more than ride the bikes Monday as players prepared for the Browns' third exhibition game in Philadelphia on Thursday. Cribbs tweaked a hamstring late in practice Sunday. The team's star kick returner is being used more as a wide receiver in Cleveland's new west coast offense. Moore caught two t |

CLEVELAND (AP) - Pristine one week, penalized the next. The second time around was sloppy for the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions. Colt McCoy threw three touchdown passes - two to tight end Evan Moore - in the first half, but the Browns blew a 15-point lead after halftime and lost 30-28 to the Lions on Friday night in a penalty-filled exhibition that showed both teams have plenty to fix in the next three weeks before the season opener. ``We've got a lot of work to do,'' McCoy said. ``There's plenty |

CLEVELAND (AP) - Detroit's top wide receiver Calvin Johnson is being kept out of the Lions' exhibition game against the Cleveland Browns as a precaution because of a bruised shoulder. Johnson got hurt in last week's 34-3 win over Cincinnati. He practiced twice this week and it was assumed he would play in Detroit's second p |

| (Sportsbooks) - If the changes to the Cleveland Browns came at a steady pace last season, then the 2011 version of the club has transformed itself at, to quote Mel Brooks' epic science fiction parody "Spaceballs," ludicrous speed. Following a 5-11 campaign in 2009, the Browns brought in the respected Mike Holmgren to serve as team president. Though the five victories did represent a one-game increase from the previous year, it was a strong finish that prompted Holmgren to keep head coach Eric Mangini and in |
