CLEVELAND (AP) -Quarterback Derek Anderson's uneven five-year stint with the Cleveland Browns is over. The team released the one-time Pro Bowl quarterback Tuesday, one day after the Browns acquired backup Seneca Wallace in a trade from Seattle. Anderson made the Pro Bowl in 2007 when he threw 29 touchdown passes and led the club to a 10-6 record. However, his promising career has been in a tailspin ever since. He lost his starting job to Brady Quinn at the start of last season, got it back, lost it again |

| Berea, OH (Sportsbooks) - The Cleveland Browns terminated the contract of quarterback Derek Anderson on Tuesday. The move comes less than 24 hours after the Browns traded for Seneca Wallace and seems to open the door for Brady Quinn to step in as the team's unquestioned full-time starter under center. "I want to thank Derek for everything that he gave the Cleveland Browns organization over the last five years," said Browns head coach Eric Mangini. "He did everything we asked of him and it was a pleasure to |

| Berea, OH (Sportsbooks) - The Cleveland Browns acquired the rights to quarterback Seneca Wallace on Monday, sending an undisclosed 2011 draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange. The trade is contingent on Wallace passing a physical later this week. Wallace was never the No. 1 quarterback for the Seahawks but made 14 starts during his seven-year career with the club, which made him a fourth-round selection in the 2003 draft. In all, he has appeared in 48 games and thrown for 3,547 passing yards with 25 |

"I'm very happy to announce that Josh Cribbs is going to be part of the Cleveland Browns for a long time," said Browns president Mike Holmgren in announcing the deal.
