Raiders acquire Palmer from Cincinnati NFL Football 10/18/2011
Alameda, CA (Sportsbooks) - The Oakland Raiders have acquired quarterback Carson Palmer from the Cincinnati Bengals, giving them an accomplished replacement for Jason Campbell. The trade cost the Raiders a first-round pick in the 2012 draft and a second- round pick in 2013, according to the Bengals' website. The 2013 pick will become a first-round selection if Oakland wins a playoff game, according to multiple reports. The Raiders were in need of a quarterback after losing Campbell for at least six weeks with
Report: Benson's suspension reduced to one game NFL Football 10/18/2011
Culver City, CA (Sportsbooks) - Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson reportedly has had his three-game suspension for offseason misconduct reduced to one game. Benson was suspended by the league in late September and appealed the penalty. The NFL Network cited a source as saying in addition to the reduction of games, Benson will also pay a fine of $176,470 -- equivalent to 1/17th of his salary. Benson served a 20-day jail sentence in Texas on a charge of misdemeanor assault, after pleading no contest
Raiders set to acquire Palmer from Cincinnati NFL Football 10/18/2011
(Sportsbooks) - The Oakland Raiders are reportedly set to acquire quarterback Carson Palmer from the Cincinnati Bengals prior to Tuesday's NFL trade deadline. According to Fox Sports, the Raiders will send a first-round pick in the 2012 draft and a conditional future selection for the disgruntled Palmer, who had made good on his threat to retire if the Bengals did not trade him. Bengals president Mike Brown said in late July he would not trade Palmer, who had originally requested a deal after the 2010 season
Inside the CFL: Call to the Hall CFL 10/17/2011
(147). Like many U.S.-born players, Stegall was just happy to get a chance to play in Canada. "I never thought I'd be inducted into the Hall of Fame," Stegall said. "I was just happy when I got to the CFL to be playing receiver. When I was with the Cincinnati Bengals for three years, I was a special teams guy, on and off the roster. When I arrived in Winnipeg in 1995, and played my first game in Calgary, it was cold on the turf, but I was just happy to play receiver." Also being inducted, is Jack Abendschan, who

Bengals host Colts in matchup of startling opposites NFL Football 10/14/2011
having one team that had gotten off to a good start trying to maintain the momentum against a sad-sack unit that had barely registered as competitive in five season-opening defeats. Exactly how many people would have labeled the former entry as the Cincinnati Bengals and the latter as the Indianapolis Colts? Nope...not us either. But entering Sunday's mid-October matchup between those clubs at Lucas Oil Stadium, the reversal of fortune is nearly complete. Not only have the rookie quarterback-led Bengals already
Bengals LB Maualuga ruled out for Sunday NFL Football 10/14/2011
Cincinnati, OH (Sportsbooks) - Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga will miss Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts with a sprained ankle. The third-year pro apparently suffered the setback in Thursday's practice, but the severity of the sprain is unknown. Head coach Marvin Lewis said Friday that Dan Skuta will fill in for Maualuga, getting just his second career start. Maualuga posted 38 tackles and one forced fumble through the first five weeks of the 2011 season. Cincinnati has a bye next week
No early struggles for youthful Bengals NFL Football 10/11/2011
Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbooks) - If ignorance is bliss, then the Cincinnati Bengals may just be the most oblivious team in the NFL. How else could you explain a rookie quarterback leading consecutive fourth- quarter comebacks as if it was the normal thing to do? How else could you explain a defense holding the top ranking in the league despite losing one of its best players in free agency this past offseason? How else do you explain the Bengals being 3-2 and looking to win three straight for the first time in
